These terms apply to every order you place with us, online, by email, by phone or in person. Please read them before you order, especially the parts about proofs and returns on personalised items.
Who we are
Two Newts Print Shop is a trading name of Two Newts Sticker Co. Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 14285262. Registered office: Unit 1, Rumbush Farm Business Park, Rumbush Lane, Earlswood, Solihull B94 5LW. Our shop and workshop are at 4E Heathfield Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7DB.
Email hello@twonewts.co.uk or call 07808 057099.
“We” and “us” means Two Newts Print Shop. “You” means the person or business placing the order. Some parts only apply to consumers (people buying for themselves) and some only to business customers; we say which.
Ordering, artwork and proofs
- Our contract. When you place an order, we email to confirm we’ve received it. The contract between us starts when we accept your order, which is when we take payment or send your proof, whichever comes first.
- Your artwork. Please send the best quality files you have. We’ll let you know if a file is too low quality to print well. We can tidy simple artwork; bigger design work may cost extra and we’ll quote first.
- Proofs. For new or changed designs, we email a digital proof before we print. Please check it carefully, including spelling, names, dates, sizes, colours and position. Once you approve it, we print exactly what you approved.
- Mistakes on an approved proof. We can’t accept returns or reprint for free for errors that were on a proof you approved. If we made a mistake that wasn’t on your approved proof, we’ll put it right.
- No reply to a proof. Please approve your proof (or ask for changes) within 3 days. We can’t start your order until you approve it, so the turnaround time starts from approval, and if we don’t hear back within 3 days your order is paused until you do. If we still haven’t heard from you after 30 days, we may cancel the order and refund you, less any costs already spent on it.
- Repeat orders. For designs you’ve ordered before with no changes, we may print without sending a new proof.
- Names lists and personalisation. For items like leavers hoodies or team kit, we print names, numbers and sizes exactly as you send them. Please check your list before sending.
Artwork quality
For the best quality print, please send your original design file (for example AI, EPS, PDF, PSD or the full-size image), or invite us to your Canva design with edit access. Screenshots and images saved from social media usually print blurry. Your designs remain yours: we only use them to make your order and never share them with anyone else.
- AI-made and screen images. Images made with AI tools, or designed only to look good on a screen, often look bright on your phone or computer but print much darker and duller. Please check your artwork or send a print-ready file.
- Sizes. We print at the size you ask for. Please check your sizes carefully, as we can’t reprint for free if the size you ordered turns out to be wrong.
- Fixing artwork. If your artwork needs adjusting to print well (for example brightening, sharpening, resizing or removing a background), we can do this for £5 per design. We’ll always ask you first, and you can choose to send a new file instead.
- Redrawing. If artwork needs redrawing from scratch, we’ll send you a quote before doing any work.
- Rejecting artwork. If we can’t get your artwork to print to a good standard, we may reject it and ask you for a new file. If you’ve already paid for an item we can’t print, we’ll refund you for it.
Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added: the price you see is the price you pay. Delivery is shown at checkout.
- Mistakes in prices. If we’ve clearly shown the wrong price by mistake, we’ll contact you before we accept your order, and you can choose to go ahead at the right price or cancel.
- Paying by card or PayPal. Payment is taken when you place your order.
- Paying by bank transfer. We start your order once the payment reaches our account. Please use your order number as the reference. If we haven’t received payment within 7 days, we may cancel the order.
- Quotes we give you are valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.
Turnaround, delivery and collection
- Turnaround. Our current turnaround is shown on the website, usually about 10 working days. It’s counted from when we have your payment and your approved proof. Working days are Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays.
- Deadlines. If you need your order by a certain date, tell us when you order. We’ll always try to meet it, but we can only guarantee a date if we’ve agreed it with you in writing.
- Delivery. We post with Royal Mail Tracked or DPD. The delivery cost is shown at checkout before you pay. Once your order is posted, delivery times depend on the courier. See our Delivery page for how to find your tracking number.
- Collection. You can collect free from 4E Heathfield Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 7DB. We’ll email you when it’s ready. Please collect within 30 days.
- Lost or damaged parcels. If your parcel hasn’t arrived 10 working days after we posted it, or arrives damaged, email us with your order number (and photos of any damage) and we’ll sort it out.
- When it becomes yours. Your order is your responsibility once it’s delivered to the address you gave us, or collected.
Garments you bring to us
We’re happy to print or embroider your own garments, but printing and embroidery use heat, pressure and needles, and every garment reacts differently. We don’t know how your garment was made, what it’s made of, or how it’s been washed or treated.
- You bring your own garments at your own risk. By leaving garments with us, you accept there’s a small chance one could be marked, scorched, stretched, shrink, discolour or be damaged by the machinery, even when we take proper care.
- What we’ll do. We test where we can and take reasonable care with everything you leave with us. If a garment is damaged because we didn’t take reasonable care, we’ll refund what you paid us for printing or embroidering that item. We can’t pay for the value of the garment itself.
- Please bring them clean and dry, with care labels left in, and tell us about any special fabrics, coatings, sequins or previous prints.
- Bring a spare if you can, especially for one-off or sentimental items, sports shirts or expensive brands. If an item is irreplaceable, please talk to us before you leave it.
- Collection. Please collect your garments within 30 days of us telling you they’re ready.
What to expect from printed items
- Colours. Screens show colour differently from print, and colours can look slightly different on different materials (for example vinyl, cotton or ceramic). Small differences in colour are normal and aren’t a fault. If an exact colour matters, tell us before we print.
- Embroidery. Very small text and fine detail may be simplified so the stitching looks good. We’ll show this on your proof.
- Garment sizes are the manufacturer’s sizes. Please check the size guide before ordering, as we can’t exchange personalised clothing because it was the wrong size.
- Position. Print and embroidery are placed by hand, so the position can vary by a few millimetres between items.
- Stickers and labels. Cutting can vary by about 1 mm. Stickers and labels should be applied to clean, dry surfaces at room temperature.
- Quantities. For large runs of stickers and labels, we may supply a few extra to allow for any rejects.
Cancelling and returns
Most of what we sell is made to order with your design, logo, names or photos. The law treats these differently from ordinary shop items.
Personalised and made-to-order items (anything printed, embroidered or made to your design or size choices) can’t be cancelled or returned once we’ve started making them, unless they’re faulty or not what you approved. This is allowed under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, because items made to your specification can’t be resold. You can still cancel for a full refund before you approve your proof.
Plain, non-personalised items (anything sold exactly as it is, with nothing added): if you’re a consumer buying online, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason.
To cancel a non-personalised item:
- Email hello@twonewts.co.uk within 14 days of receiving it, with your order number.
- Send it back within 14 days of telling us, unused and in its original condition. You pay the return postage unless the item is faulty.
- We’ll refund you within 14 days of getting it back, including the original standard delivery charge, to your original payment method.
These rights don’t apply to business customers.
Faulty or wrong items
If something arrives faulty, damaged, or different from the proof you approved, we’ll put it right.
- Email hello@twonewts.co.uk as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days of receiving it, with your order number and photos of the problem.
- Please don’t wash, use or wear the items before telling us, so we can see the fault.
- Where it’s our mistake, we’ll reprint, repair or refund, and cover any return postage.
If you’re a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you legal rights when goods are faulty or not as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. For example, you can reject faulty goods for a full refund within 30 days, and after that you’re entitled to a repair or replacement. You can find out more from Citizens Advice.
Trade accounts and business customers
- Applying. Trade accounts are for businesses, schools, clubs and organisations that order regularly. We review every application and can accept or decline at our discretion.
- Trade prices and quantity discounts shown on your account apply to orders placed through your account. We may update them from time to time, and changes won’t affect orders already placed.
- Saved designs. We keep your approved designs on file so you can reorder. Please tell us if anything on them changes, such as ingredients, contact details or legal wording on product labels.
- Product labels. You are responsible for making sure any information on labels you order (such as ingredients, allergens, weights, warnings and legal text) is correct and meets the rules for your products.
- Business purchases. If you buy as a business, the 14-day cancellation right and some consumer protections don’t apply. We’ll still put right anything that’s our mistake.
Your designs and what we won’t print
- You must have the right to use your artwork. By sending us a design, logo, photo or text, you confirm you own it or have permission to use it. This includes other brands’ logos, characters, sports badges and photos taken by someone else.
- If there’s a claim. If someone makes a claim against us because of artwork you sent (for example for copyright or trade mark infringement), you agree to cover our reasonable costs.
- Things we won’t print. We can refuse any design we believe is illegal, offensive, discriminatory, or infringes someone else’s rights. If we refuse after you’ve paid, we’ll refund you in full.
- Our designs. Templates and designs we create for you are for your own use. You can’t resell them as designs without our permission.
- Showing our work. We may share photos of finished orders on our website and social media. If you’d rather we didn’t, just tell us when you order and we won’t.
Discount codes and offers
- Discount codes can be used once per customer unless the code says otherwise, and can’t be exchanged for cash.
- Only one code can be used per order, and codes can’t be added after an order is placed.
- Offers last while stated, or while stocks last, and we can end an offer early if it’s being misused.
Our liability
- If we don’t follow these terms, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking them or not using reasonable care. We’re not responsible for loss or damage that wasn’t foreseeable.
- Consumers: we only supply items for domestic and private use. We’re not responsible for lost profits, loss of business or business interruption.
- Business customers: our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
- We’re not responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, such as courier problems, supplier shortages or severe weather. We’ll tell you as soon as we can and work out what to do next with you.
Complaints, law and contact
- Complaints. If you’re unhappy with anything, please email hello@twonewts.co.uk with your order number. We’ll reply within 3 working days and do our best to put things right.
- Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
- The law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
- Your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
